What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help overworked corporate professionals and unmotivated young adults born into wealth overcome limiting beliefs and create a life of health, happiness, passion, and purpose while ending the quest for more. I strategize methods to help people develop self-awareness and acceptance to maximize their highest potential and sense of belonging using many modalities.

Tell us about yourself

I was in the middle of my sophomore year of high school in 1998 when I became utterly bored and exhausted by the educational system. When I was 15, I decided to withdraw and thankfully tested into college-level courses at Pima Community College so I could explore learning on my terms. I turned 16 the week of finishing my official GED, getting a new car, and starting the first day of my further schooling. I took an unconventional route and took as many possible upper-division courses, which didn’t require a prerequisite, as I was always working on challenging my competency.

I went to my first Bikram yoga class in 2000 due to my void of playing team sports which I did my entire public school duration, all years, all seasons. I did track and field, cross country, soccer, and basketball. Eventually, I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in Anthropology with an emphasis in medical anthropology, plus an interdisciplinary minor in three fields, business management, sociology, and nutrition. My quest for personal understanding led me to a one-year bible college and a two-year ASL interpreter training program. After completing my second degree, I moved to the Bay Area and spent two months on a 100-day Bikram challenge when I was sent to Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in LA in the fall of 2011. I dove into teaching classes full-time until I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. I became a part of the medical system and saw firsthand everything I had learned about the western model of medicine in school. I learned that proper health comes from having a healthy attitude towards life no matter the circumstances and created systems of managing different aspects of being a patient, a sick person, and a Bikram yogi. All these circumstances challenged my sense of identity in its entirety. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We managed to stay in business post-Covid, navigating the ever-changing online market, keeping up with technological change, and gaining valuable corporate clients such as Deloitte.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

You are learning to adapt and grow as your brand and business grow without getting in your way.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you love what you do.
  2. Show up for yourself every day the best way you know how.
  3. Never give up. Persistence and determination are how you succeed.
