What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help people monetize their podcasts by providing various services such as podcast production, booking, strategy, content marketing, and thought leadership. I have a network of six podcasts called Real Business Connections, where we feature conversations with executives, entrepreneurs, convicts, behavior scientists, sales trainers, wellness experts, and more. My goal is to extract the best nibbles of wisdom from these experts and compress decades of experience into minutes for the listeners.
I host five programs on the Real Business Connections Network, including Learn Speak Teach, Rochester Business Connections, Fifteen Minute Fridays, Ben's Bites, and Real Hits. My podcasts cover important topics related to business, such as the importance of networking, making money as an entrepreneur, self-development goals for work, how human behavior affects business dynamics, sales and persuasion, actionable business tips, public speaking, asking the right questions, deserving what you want, and what success means.
My mission is to move the needle on one million lives, one conversation at a time. I want to make a positive impact on people's lives by sharing knowledge and insights from successful individuals in various fields. Overall, my focus is on providing valuable content and services to help individuals and businesses achieve success in the world of podcasting and beyond.

I was let go from my sales executive role when the COVID pandemic hit. At first, it was a difficult experience, but I saw it as an opportunity to pursue my passion for podcasting and create something meaningful. I recognized that staying connected and sharing valuable insights was more important than ever during a time of isolation and uncertainty. Starting a business during a pandemic was not an easy task, but I knew that it was the right time to launch Real Business Connections. I had valuable skills and expertise from my previous role, and I knew that I could apply them to my new venture.
Networking, persuasion, and building relationships were all essential components of successful podcasting, and I had experience in all these areas. I was determined to make Real Business Connections a success. I was driven by my passion for podcasting and my desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. I believed that everyone had something to offer, and I wanted to provide a platform where experts could share their wisdom and insights with others. Starting a business during a pandemic may have come with its challenges, but it also presented opportunities for innovation and growth. I was able to pivot my career and create something that I was proud of. My story is a testament to the resilience and determination of entrepreneurs who are willing to take risks and pursue their dreams, even during uncertain times.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been replacing my sales executive income in just over a year. It was a moment of pride for me, as it proved that the idea of Real Business Connections was working and I was on the right track to success.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a business owner, one of the hardest things is juggling new tasks and constantly learning. I have to manage multiple aspects of the business, stay updated on industry trends, and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of entrepreneurship. It can be overwhelming and stressful, but it is also a lot of fun as it keeps me engaged and motivated to grow both personally and professionally.
The satisfaction of learning and growing is priceless, and it makes the hard work and long hours worth it. Despite the difficulties, the sense of achievement that comes with building a successful business from the ground up is unparalleled. As an entrepreneur, I am willing to learn, adapt, and embrace the challenges that come with running a business because I know that the rewards are worth it in the end.
