Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lynnette Mendoza, owner of BellaRo Cupcakery & Sweets, LLC., located in San Antonio, TX, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is my bakery! What started as a hobby making my son's birthday cakes quickly became a passion and dream of mine. My customers are amazing and have been on this journey with me for years! From baking at home to our mobile concept, to now our storefront!
Tell us about yourself
My motivation comes from my family, especially my children. I want them to see that dreams really do come true when you put your heart into them!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner thus far is to hear other people tell me how they are inspired by me. I usually push forward every day and sometimes stop to look at everything that's being accomplished. So it's nice to hear when people love what you're doing!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The balance. It's a lot to be in charge of a business and find balance with life and everything else in between. But prioritizing and making the most of workdays helps!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be prepared for growth.
- Ground yourself- make time for you and all the things you love. Balance is key!
- Be your own biggest cheerleader; you owe it to you!
