Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Briana Shultzman, Owner of Beeyond 1817, located in Berlin, OH, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have an eclectic handmade boutique located in the oldest building in Berlin, Ohio. My products appeal to anyone looking for that one-of-a-kind item.
Tell us about yourself
Creating and expressing myself through my craft has always defined my personality. I find it very rewarding to create items that are functional pieces that also help define your personal style as well.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I believe my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is making products that our customers cannot live without year after year. Often we hear how our soap or salves have been invaluable in their lives.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest hurdles in business is managing all your responsibilities while not letting yourself get burnout on the job. A work-life balance is key!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My advice to anyone starting out on their own entrepreneurship would be to delegate the areas where you know you struggle the most. Try to always clean up your work area at the end of the day; this will allow a clean slate for the next. Make it a point to let those who have helped you know just how much you appreciate them.
