Heart-Centered Copywriting & Branding - Becky Nethery

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Becky Nethery, founder of Becky Nethery Creative Inc., located in Goderich, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a copywriter and instructional design consultant for heart-centered entrepreneurs. I help business owners clarify their message and brand story so they can own their genius, serve their clients and make more money through the power of copywriting. I also help 1:1 service providers design group programs to support their clients. Lastly, I'm the founder of The Embodied Marketing Method, a revolutionary program to help entrepreneurs learn how to reframe their relationship with their marketing through embodiment practices and copywriting techniques.

Tell us about yourself

My desire to start my business came from wanting to use my gifts and talents to support other amazing business owners who are doing big things in the world to promote healing and end suffering. I saw some extremely talented entrepreneurs who were playing small when it came to their marketing and owning the results that they helped their clients achieve. I think so many entrepreneurs take their skills and expertise for granted. This gets in the way of their ability to connect with clients and grow their business.

I love helping entrepreneurs feel clarity and confidence in their messaging through writing their website copy. Once they have this foundation in place for their business, it's so much easier to write their social media posts and emails because they are CLEAR on their values and brand story and know how to position themselves to really connect with their ideal clients. It's like a marketing makeover that supports entrepreneurs to step into their next leadership level.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is the person that I have become along this journey. I've learned how to ask for help; I've learned how to OWN my genius; I've learned how to sell my services and how to create a business that supports the life I want to create for myself. My biggest accomplishment is that I continue to become more and more confident in who I am and who I can help and learn how to do that from a place of embodiment and flow instead of hustle and burnout. I think believing in myself and having confidence in what I do. The results I help my clients achieve, instead of downplaying my skills or taking them for granted.

Running your own business can be super scary, so my biggest accomplishment is that I am becoming more and more myself and learning how I can contribute to the world in a way that has a great impact and that feels good for me at the same time.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is learning how to trust yourself more and more. At first, everything is new, and it's easy to say yes to projects that aren't 100% aligned. Getting clarity on exactly WHO I help and refining the process of HOW I help them and then sticking to that has been a process. You can do a million things to make money, but what will actually fill your soul back up by doing it? What makes you come alive that you can't wait to contribute your gifts to your clients? The process of refining that and sticking to that has been one of the hardest parts.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It starts with you. Your belief that you can do this is critical to your success.
  2. Gradual growth and consistency will get you much further than sporadic actions.
  3. Follow the fun and don't just think about your business, but think about the life you want to create. How can your business support that life, because at the end of the day, you don't want to be a slave to your business; you want your business to support your life.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

There are gifts that only you have that the world needs. There are solutions that you can offer people that will light you up, make you money and create a substantial impact in the world. Your creativity, skills, and talents can contribute healing and happiness to your life and the life of your clients. Running your own business is the ultimate personal-development journey. If you choose to accept, you will be supported in ways you never dreamed of. People will help you, coaches and guides will show up, clients will arrive when you commit to using your gifts to support the collective. It's a beautiful and adventurous journey that will stretch you beyond what you knew you were possible. You'll grow. You'll make mistakes. You'll learn.

If you are struggling with your brand message and you would like to use your story to connect with clients and sell your services or products, I'd love to connect with you and support you in this journey through my done-for-you copywriting services.
