What's your business, and who are your customers?

Beauty Releaf is a clean, eco-luxury beauty company. All of our products are multipurpose and provide multiple benefits to the skin. We are beauty simplified. All Beauty Releaf products are created in small batches to minimize waste and support small-scale organic farming. We meticulously curate each ingredient for its powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits. Our products will help protect, prevent and reduce inflammation of the skin. Our multifunctional makeup collection is highly pigmented and provides rich, long-lasting color. Designed to use individually or mixed to create endless possibilities. We are sustainably produced and packaged, cruelty-free, and proudly made in the USA.

Tell us about yourself

I have been in the Beauty Industry for over 25 years and have worked in many areas of the beauty industry. I held Executive positions in luxury international luxury beauty companies, trained thousands of makeup artists nationally and internationally, and consulted beauty startup companies. I am also a professional makeup artist and have worked in fashion, print, and TV. In recent years my business partner Kathryn, also a professional makeup artist, and I began noticing a change in our clients. So many were having more sensitive skin and being diagnosed with skin conditions. We knew we had to get to the bottom of it. After extensive research, we discovered these increased sensitivities and skin issues were caused by skin inflammation. Inflammation of the skin is caused by product overload, toxic ingredients, and environmental and dietary factors. This discovery is what led to Beauty Releaf being born. We focus on protecting, preventing, and reducing skin inflammation with the 'Best of the Best." natural ingredients and simplifying beauty routines.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I believe the biggest accomplishment is the hundreds of testimonials we have received for our products. It means the world to us! We are truly passionate about what we do, which ignites that passion even more. Knowing we are improving the health and appearance of our customer's skin and simplifying their beauty routines is our mission!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is that there seems to never be enough hours in the day! Every day is different and presents new challenges. Kathryn and I love what we do and believe we will always find a way to overcome those challenges.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be passionate about your business.
  2. Offer a product or service that solves a solution to a problem. (We only create thoughtful and solution-based products where there is a niche in the market.)
  3. Set Goals.
  4. Stay Focused!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Always surround yourself with highly qualified people. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If your goals don't scare you, aim higher ;)
