What's your business, and who are your customers?
Beauties Sports is a Sports media company dedicated to the growth and development of female athletes. Our customers are sports fans.
Tell us about yourself
I have been involved with sports my entire life. I started playing hockey and softball when I was eight years old and have been hooked ever since. I have done a variety of jobs in the sports world, from coaching, mentorship, and recruiting, and I felt like there was a hole in the market where people actually learned about what was available for their daughters in sports.
The driving force behind Beauties and what motivates us is a part of the change towards Women's sports in a positive light. Changing the conversation for young female athletes that are coming up to know that they are accepted in the sports world for their whole lives and that it is not just in youth sports!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Successfully getting a sponsor on board to support our online platform that is geared around being female athletes, coaches, and parents together.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being ok with working alone. In the beginning, there are going to be a lot of people that may not understand your vision, and that is ok, but you have to remember your why and be ok with pushing forward on your own.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Seek help and guidance from experts.
- Be patient.
- Print out your 'why' and have it somewhere you can see every day.
