Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Olivier Vetter, owner of Bean About Town LLC., located in Honolulu, HI, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a specialty coffee shop. Our customers are locals and coffee lovers who visit Hawaii, plus we do have international orders.

Tell us about yourself

My background is in hospitality, and my last job was as a manager at a Michelin restaurant in London. I opened  Bean About Town in London and became an ambassador for the coffee association of Europe, and decided to move Bean About Town to Honolulu and increase our roasting business plan.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a social entrepreneur and close to our staff is mainly our focus, giving confidence to our team and the love for our products and customer service.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Stay focused on your profile, products, work identity, and stay confident.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

To start a business, you need time and cash flow for the first two years unless you start very small to capitalize and grow bigger but never forget to have a backup treasury. If your products are good or customer service and staff ethics are good, it will work guaranteed.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Lots, but perhaps we like to get a Bean About Town storybook.
