What's your business, and who are your customers?
Be The Best You Studios is a dance studio that caters to youth and adults. Our beautiful studio offers a variety of dance styles. We offer ballet, modern, hip-hop, beginner heels, pole fitness, and cardio classes. We take pride in giving the WOW experience and making sure all students and clients are the best versions of themselves.
Tell us about yourself
I have been dancing since I was five years old. Growing up in the dance industry, I’ve learned and gained so much. As I got older, I wanted to make sure I gave back to the youth and to women who felt insecure. I wanted to create a safe haven for both youth and adults. A place where they can come and be free through the movement of dance. My students and clients are what motivate me to keep going. Even when I get discouraged or feel like giving up, I’m always reminded by a client how my business has truly touched their life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is opening up my own dance studio. It took a lot of prayers, patience, and hard work. I just recently opened up in March of 2022. It has truly been a journey and learning experience but definitely worth it all.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The moments when you feel like giving up because maybe clientele or bookings are low. The start of becoming a business owner can be overwhelming. It’s so much to learn about being a business owner. Education is very important in this field. Also, not being afraid to find resources and ask for help when needed.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Write out a business plan and your goals for your business. A business plan is your guide throughout your business. Take some business classes to educate yourself. Find your clientele and perimeter, promote, promote. Most importantly, make sure your business is something you are passionate about.

Be the amazing change that the world needs. Stay focused and never give up on your dreams. You never know what will happen unless you truly try. When you try, give it your all. - Candace B.
