What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a headshot photographer for businesses and individuals, both on-location and in my Wellesley, MA, studio, providing distinctive headshots that amplify the brand that you'll actually love!

Tell us about yourself

I've always loved photography, and I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people look their best, particularly if they either hate having their picture taken or have never had a good picture taken of themselves.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a solid reputation and following, with satisfied customers who refer me, along with repeat business.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Rising above the "noise" and getting visibility.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You'll do more marketing and selling vs. the actual work you get paid for, at least until the business gains momentum.
  2. It's likely going to take longer (and cost more $$$) to grow the business - plan accordingly.
  3. Get help in areas you don't have expertise in, particularly marketing.
