What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Relationship Coach and Author. My customers are couples, individuals, and families who can benefit from enhancing their relationships. My books are focused on providing easy-to-implement tools that help build better ways to communicate. They also pinpoint interactions and situations in their relationships that could be improved.

Tell us about yourself

Early on in my childhood, I noticed family discord and ineffective communication between my Mother and Father. I saw friends and other family members struggling with relationships too. I knew I needed to be in the helping profession, and after achieving a BSN in Nursing, I decided Counseling was the field that would allow me to be most helpful. My motivation comes from the few successes that I have seen and an even stronger goal to help those who struggle. I also know that without better communication skills and a focus on achieving goals, nothing improves.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

This would be to add value, commitment, and dedication to enriching the lives of others. It is also to provide the information, through my books, in easily digestible ways to those who want a better relationship.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Keeping a focus on the goal and not allowing small failures along the way cancel the motivation to move forward each day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Know your purpose and reason for becoming a business owner.
Make a realistic budget for your bottom line.
Keep a positive attitude as you start out without unrealistic expectations. Be patient and keep your goals in front of you as you find your way.
