What's your business, and who are your customers?
Banana Peels Studio is a facial and reiki studio in Dover, NH. My goal is to have women feel comfortable in their own skin.
Tell us about yourself
I love being able to relax my clients' parasympathetic nervous systems. It's such a wonderful thing to be able to watch your clients' skin and energy transform in front of your eyes. To have someone walk into a safe space and drop everything at the door for a moment in time. I love being able to provide that.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment of being a business owner is that I even took the risk in the first place, haha!! Opening my own business and working for myself was hands down the best decision I ever made, and it was also the most terrifying.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being a mother and a business owner is definitely difficult. I feel like I'm always wearing two hats, but as overwhelming as that can feel, working for myself has also allowed me to be able to make my own schedule so I can be with my daughter as much as possible.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Hire a CPA you trust and save your money.
- Don't compare yourself to anyone else.
- Know you'll make mistakes along the way, but fail forward and keep dreaming.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I'm just really grateful for all my clients. I really do love going to work every day.
