What's your business, and who are your customers?

I produce a podcast called Bad Alibi Podcast. The name came from my thriller book subscription box, Bad Alibi Book Box. The box will end in December 2022, but the podcast will keep going.

Tell us about yourself

When I started the book box, it was because I became obsessed with them but didn't see any that purely focused on thriller and horror novels. The podcast came from me getting my novels rejected by agents and just wanting to put my stories out there. This was my way of doing it, and I haven't looked back since.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The podcast was awarded the title for being one of the best thriller podcasts, and the box got awarded the title of best book box of 2022.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Doing it all alone. It's great because you don't have to haggle with a partner on which idea to go with, but sometimes it would be nice to have someone to at least do half the work.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Do your research, and then just go for it. There is a lot to learn, but a lot of it will come once you get started.
