What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a traveling swim school created over 40 years ago by an educator who needed to create a program for children under age 4. The other owner (a mom too) who almost lost her child to a drowning(Mindy) and had a business background. The Turn, Kick Reach program is a five-day program that can teach children from 9 months to adults.

Tell us about yourself

I am an entrepreneur by trade and a mother on a mission to ensure that what happened to me by almost losing my child to drowning never happens to another family. My mission is to put as many people in business through our franchising which will save so many children.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Saving children from drowning. I love what I do and hope to empower others to do the same thing.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Helping parents understand that it's okay if their child cries during their lessons. And making parents know that the price of this service is invaluable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Love what you do.
  2. Be passionate.
  3. Stay focused.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Teaching children this lifesaving skill has changed so many of us profoundly; once you hold a child, knowing that this child will not drown is the best feeling in the world. Our mission today is to make Florida a ZERO drowning state.
