What's your business, and who are your customers?
Aum Cafe is committed to providing the best homemade, organic food and drink experience inside Bonnie Doon Mall. Our tag line is "A Place for All" which means we welcome all kinds of demographics. We even have a wide variety of curry, cakes, and more to cater to gluten and vegan-friendly people as well.

Established in 2019, AUM Cafe is our inspiration and challenge simultaneously to prove that we have gained experience and can deliver better to you. Coming from over 20 years of food and beverage experience across the UK and India, our concept strives to include friendly service and a great ambiance with homemade, organic food to savour.
Aum Cafe is handled with care and perfection, and that motivates us to strive and aim higher for every visit to our guests.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Aum Cafe just opened three months before COVID, and being a small first-time business, we are still open doors to our guests with a strong faith that the future belongs to those who are prepared for it. Aum Cafe takes pride as a biggest ongoing accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
COVID has made things different, and due to its long-term impact, the challenges are creeping up every day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- To start a new business: Do your homework and get your finances correct. Make a plan of action and a hypothetical balance sheet for the next three years and monitor the trend quarterly once opened. These figures will offer the right projections for the future of business.
- Run: Do your operational homework, including safety at work, product choices, right price mix strategy, read your guests and their buying behaviour. Ready for change and adapt quickly. Ready to bounce back in any difficult situation.
- Grow: Value your guests and staff. It's important to have a happy team to have satisfied guests. Contribute and share success in the local community. Save some finances during the initial phase to counter any difficult situation.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Aum Cafe is going hand in hand with many small businesses to ensure combined success. This will be a new way of success to have a tie-up with other vendors to ensure a fair share of success to the local community and business.
