Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Anastasia Hisel, founder of Atma, located in Miami, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Atma is a wellness app; where you can book over 50+ different wellness services on demand. From a life coach to nutritionist, massages, personal trainers, therapist, or even luxury retreats - real-time - within seconds, and get the service as little as 60 minutes to your home, virtually, or to the available business location in your area. For practitioners, we empower them to grow their business, expand their reach, connect with clients and be their own boss by setting up their own schedules. Helping them fulfill virtually, in-person at their location, or expand their reach to clients home. A new way to earn income, plus we provide every tool they need to organize their day-to-day operations, reports, analytics, and other business tools. The first to market Saas software. Now, imagine there wasn’t a psychiatrist or psychologist for miles around, let alone another specialist who these millions of people could trust with their specific needs. This is what life is like for many Americans in rural communities. I am on a mission to make wellness accessible for all.

Tell us about yourself

I was on a women's retreat in Peru. I came back feeling amazing. I was in a good place in my life, but something didn't feel 100% there just yet. I didn't think I needed a therapist; I thought I healed from my traumas. So I figured I needed a life coach; after spending weeks online and then finally finding a few life coaches just through my friends and word of mouth - I realized there was a problem to solve. I also had a really hard time finding other interesting retreats. That's when Atma was born. I definitely have days where I lose motivation, but then I think about the journey and how many opportunities I have already had. The process itself is exciting.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Learning things like UX/UI design, product management, and other tech skills I never thought I would find myself doing.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Understanding that everyone who joins the team comes from a different type of work/life experience and accommodating, motivating, and growing together. It's honestly really hard, especially if you are used to working solo.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Plan your full year of goals, collaborations, and company before starting. Go on a hardcore research mode, and give yourself time to think.
