We Dress Up Your Table & Make It Saucier - ATELIER SAUCIER

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in home care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Staci Inspektor, Co-Founder of ATELIER SAUCIER, located in Culver City, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

ATELIER SAUCIER is a modern tablescape design house for sustainable + customizable linens. With backgrounds in the food + fashion industries,  founders (and best friends) Nikki Reed and I set out to combine our varied experiences and shared passion for hosting and introduce a fresh, elevated perspective to all things table linens. ATELIER SAUCIER is where entertaining, dining, and design intersect. Our customers include homemakers, tastemakers, young professionals, interior designers, event planners, creatives, and those interested in sustainable home decor and modern design. We uniquely meet their needs by offering an elevated, design-forward product that is eco-conscious not only in the nature of its use but it's make-up and entire production process.

Tell us about yourself

Nikki and I have known each other for over a decade, and from the moment we met, we realized we both had the entrepreneurial itch and immediately began brainstorming business ideas! Nikki was in NY helping to open a sustainable restaurant and was having a hard time finding linens that fit the aesthetic and overall vibe. She called me one night, and the light bulb went off; I suggested - why don't we make them? We completed that project, and ATELIER SAUCIER was born! Working with your best friend and doing what you love helps motivate you to work hard and continue pushing the limits to achieve success.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a team has definitely been one of our greatest accomplishments, and we are excited to continue growing as the brand evolves! For the first 2 years, it was just the two of us, so to have help, creative minds, and camaraderie feels extra rewarding!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Finding the time to manage all the moving parts while you are expanding and growing in real-time. You have to think outside the box and be up for challenges, all while maintaining a positive attitude!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a great business partner (or best friend) to have by your side!
  2. Find a niche in the market for a product or idea that sets your brand apart from others.
  3. Be ready to experience the highest of highs but also lows, and know that this is all part of starting a new venture. Don't be discouraged by the unexpected hurdles you may face - persevere and do not give up on your dream!
