What's your business, and who are your customers?
Asiah Amour Beauty LLC offers a variety of beauty services catering to women. Women come in beautiful and leave with that beauty enhanced.
Tell us about yourself
When I was a college sophomore, I wouldn’t leave my apartment without my strip eyelashes. I began looking into eyelash extensions, and I fell in love. I knew other women felt strongly as well. This inspired me to take a class. I graduated college and went to beauty school to get licensed, so I could start my own business, making women feel even more beautiful; when women get up and look in the mirror at the results, the reactions always warm my heart.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is creating this wonderful business while being in college, graduating college, and successfully keeping my business going. This is my career now. I never knew one lash class would change my life.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is the fluctuation of my revenue monthly. Some months are amazing, and other months are a struggle, but I learned this is what comes with entrepreneurship.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I would say never give up, especially in the beginning, always remember why you started, and stay humble always! No matter how many clients you have, treat your first client like your last. When things start getting crazy, don’t forget about those clients that helped you along the way. Be authentic; you and your clients will come.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I’d like to share that being a business owner is very hard and stressful. I’ve had a 9-5 and had an easier life. However, making people feel beautiful, I believe, is my calling. No money will compare to the hard-earned money you make from your own talents.
