What's your business, and who are your customers?

Ash Bay Soap Co. makes handmade soaps. Our soaps are great for all skin types. We offer 10 different varieties and over 200 scents. Custom orders and wholesale are also welcome.

Tell us about yourself

I have problematic skin— sensitivities, allergies, eczema, and more. I have it. I needed to find skin products without chemicals and was unable to find any available. I had to resort to my own products. My motivation is to help others and provide a product that is safe for everyone to use and eco-friendly.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having a brick and mortar to better serve my customers and have a place for new prospects to come.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Opening mid-pandemic has been a struggle. The economy is still trying to bounce back, and the public is starting to spend money again.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Consider sharing a space with another small business until you know for sure if it's going to work. This way, your start-up fees are not as much, and you have someone to talk to and work with. Later on, when you succeed, you can pass it forward to someone else.
