Scaling From Within - Asamby Consulting
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Benjamin Lander, Founder of Asamby Consulting, located in Stuttgart, BW, Deutschland.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Asamby Consulting, we help companies around the world to optimize their operations by looking at the dimensions of people, processes, tools, strategy execution, and leadership. Only with these five things under control and well-aligned will your company prosper. Our typical client has between 10 and 150 employees. We work across industries and serve both traditional as well as remote-only clients.
Tell us about yourself
I have always loved to make others successful. This is reflected by my track record of starting and/or running several successful B2B service businesses. Also, I love company building and putting together high-performance teams. My commitment to my clients, as well as the limitless potential in today's business world, motivate me to give my best every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I believe that for all companies I've started and run so far, the biggest accomplishment was to put together the right teams that today either work with me or run the respective companies autonomously.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think the hardest thing is to motivate yourself on a consistent basis. Especially in the early phase of starting a business, reconfirmation is often a very scarce resource. You have to be able to endure dry periods and setbacks without someone patting your shoulder.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Pick a topic or idea and just go for it. Execution is much more important than the last bit of market or competitive analysis. Validate ideas by talking to potential clients instead of examining the theoretical aspects of it.
- Don't aim for perfection. There is no perfection in business, just improvement. The earlier you wrap your head around the fact that you have to constantly improve and evolve, the better. Take everything one deal/sale at a time, and get better as you go.
- Find the right people. Be it a co-founder, your first employee, or a freelancer – choose carefully who you work with, as this choice will have the single most impact on success in the long run. Once you find the right people, communicate well and often.
