What's your business, and who are your customers?
Artsyknots makes art print scarves and bow ties. Everything starts out as artwork on canvas using various mediums. Few of them get picked and processed so that they can be printed on a scarf or a bow tie.
Artsyknots' mission is simple, to create small memorable wearable items which are unique and which speak to people individually. Our bow ties look similar, but no two pieces are ever alike.
Tell us about yourself
As an artist, I believe in framing the world around me using instinct and emotion while creating one-of-a-kind art pieces. I am part self-taught and partly trained in the areas of sketching, portraiture, and contemporary art using multiple mixed mediums on canvas, acrylic, and oil colors.
Artsy Knots was born because wearable art is a perfect way to share emotions captured in paintings with the wider world. Each piece is individually curated, and materials are picked that best encapsulate the feeling & essence of each painting. Our wearable art products range from scarves to bow-ties that suit both formal and informal occasions for both men and women. All products are made from high-quality silks and wool, and Modals.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
When others like your work and they are willing to pay and share that joy with someone else, it is a big accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It is incredibly hard to sell something. It is not easy to convince someone to part with their hard-earned money. The value you must provide goes beyond just the product, and it has to do with experience, emotion, and trust at a fundamental level. The art of selling is the most difficult art form, and I am learning that firsthand after being a business owner.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You must develop Patience.
- You need to have the willingness to experiment and be curious.
- Persevere no matter what.
