What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a physical therapy practice that specializes in pelvic health. My customers are women who are looking to prevent or treat pelvic health issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, infertility, and prenatal/postnatal concerns.
Tell us about yourself
I am a mother of three, and I began specializing in pelvic health when I realized the lack of education and guidance provided to women during pregnancy and postpartum. I continue to strive to provide this education and care to women to help them achieve pregnancy, stay active during pregnancy, and heal after birth.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is being successful in a practice that truly puts the patient first with quality one-on-one care in a comfortable environment that is very different from the typical medical setting.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I'm a one-woman show, so from updating my website, caring for patients, and making connections within my community. I do it all.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find someone who is already doing what you want to do and learn from them so you can avoid going through the same struggles or challenges.
- Don't lose confidence in yourself. You're the expert in your business and can be successful.
- It will often be more work than you initially anticipate, but if it's what you enjoy, it won't feel like work.
