Keep The Weight Off For Good - Appetite for Awesome
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Candice Ludwig, Founder of Appetite for Awesome, located in Chicago, IL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Appetite for Awesome is a 12-week nutrition and health coaching program designed for busy women who are ready to make a change and release the weight holding them down.
Tell us about yourself
I began coaching in nutrition and wellness after making my own personal transition from on/off dieting and workouts that weren't getting me anywhere. Changing how I ate and how I worked out not only improved my health but my mindset as well and eventually led to more energy and joy in my life.
I first started working as a nutrition coach at a CrossFit gym while in a corporate role as an organizational psychologist. I was personally familiar with the ways a back-to-back and crazy-busy work schedule negatively affected my health and well-being, and I noticed more and more of my colleagues running into the same issues. Feeling tired, rundown, and putting themselves last on the list of priorities become the norm. When I decided to create a digital version of my program, I decided to design it for all the too-busy, jam-packed women out there who deserve to feel better and get back to the real them.
I am committed to this work because I know how life-changing better health can be. Seeing wins and results from my clients feels incredible and motivates me to continue to improve my own health and expand my reach in helping others.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a coach is the results my clients get. Whether it's fat loss, improved strength, increased energy, or confidence, being a part of someone's growth and change is amazing. As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment is launching the full Appetite for Awesome program in a way that is accessible to those outside of my immediate community. I am so proud and excited to see it come to life.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the harder parts of being a business owner is making the time to promote the program. I love the work of creating content and coaching, but marketing comes less easily to me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Focus on meaningful actions each day.
- Done is better than perfect--get your work out there, test it with your ideal clients, and let them help you design the solutions that will be most helpful.
- Get help. Find a coach or mentor that's done it before and use their guidance to help inform your plan of action.
