Tell us about yourself

My name is Alejandro Mordasini, and I am the Co-Founder of Apex Assembly. I was born and raised in the upper east side of Manhattan, New York. Growing up, I always envisioned myself becoming an entrepreneur. I knew I had the work ethic, drive, and passion for making a profound impact in the technology event industry. In 2017, I decided to take that leap into entrepreneurship, and it was the best decision I have ever made!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It's hard to choose just one, so I'll highlight three. First, being recognized as one of the premier technology event organizers in the industry. Second, being ranked 1,146 on the 2022 Inc. 5000 Magazine's fastest growing companies in America. Third and most fulfilling, establishing an organization of 40+ employees and creating a culture of authenticity, collaboration, growth, and leadership.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

In the beginning stages of growing your business, you will have to wear multiple hats until you have the resources to hire those roles. Learning how to adapt and embrace change while under constant pressure is crucial to the success of your business. You have to be able to identify your weaknesses and stay resilient throughout the process.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your strengths and weaknesses! Do not waste your time on what you do not know. Focus on what you're capable of and hire or find partners that can work on what you need help with.
  2. Take all the risks! Every successful entrepreneur took a big leap! It is a daunting and scary feeling but trusts in the process and see it through!
  3. Fear of failure is said to be the most common challenge entrepreneurs face. There will be times you'll be knocked down, but do not let that discourage you, and stay the course! Understand that success doesn't happen overnight!
