I do Business headshots for Executives, CEOs, and people of power and influence.
Tell us about yourself
While working for a multiple billion dollar technology company as an Engineer Analyst Assistant, I sought to increase my earnings to better support my family. After reviewing my situation, I realized that I had reached the maximum earning potential within the constraints of my hourly wage and working hours. This realization motivated me to launch my own business in order to remove those limitations.
Initially, my drive was to prove my family and skeptics wrong that I could be successful at photography, and I did. Over time, my motivation has evolved to help individuals in presenting a professional image to enhance their career prospects and financial stability for their own families.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Personally, my biggest accomplishment, I think, has been sacrificing everything to be where I am today, earning my first 6 figure income. To put all that into perspective, the girl I was dating when I first started photography told me I had to give up photography or she and the kids would leave me. Then I was homeless with a camera, moved to a state where I had no friends and didn't know anyone. So yeah, I think my biggest accomplishment is not giving up and proving to myself and the world that anything is possible.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Just to be clear, there are a ton of things that are hard when it comes to being a business owner. But I think where most people fail; they give up somewhere along the way. I think that's the hardest thing, not giving up.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top 3 tips would be:
- Stay focused.
- Remember your why.
- Be open to change.
