What's your business, and who are your customers?
We operate under the banner of anamii. The word 'anamii' literally translates to nameless and refers to certain internal human dimensions of life, which were spoken about at length in ancient India. We found that certain meditation and yogic practices went so much deeper than simply the sum of the physical or mental exercises and decided to bring them in their authenticity to the western world.
Tell us about yourself
I've been an engineer at Amazon for the last 5.5 years, and at some point got deeply involved in yoga and meditation. The practices themselves were very transformative in the sense that they brought a deep emotional and physical upliftment that I didn't even seek as such. And with that, they brought a very deep perception into life. When this happened, I decided these aspects of India had to be made available to the rest of the world, and I, with my co-founder, decided to launch this project.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Most of our parallels got shut down, and we've managed to survive. We are at a crucial point where we are figuring out what to do; next, I feel like coming this far has been pretty great.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
To constantly be ahead of the curve in terms of figuring out what is needed next, to know what are the pain points of the project, and essentially be involved such that we are building what someone might need a few years from now today.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Learn to be in the flow state -> it's the effortless productivity state.
- Stay consistent.
- Listen -> that's where the perception of what to do next comes from.
