Maximize Your Workout - Anabolic Aliens
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mike Rosa, Owner and CEO of Anabolic Aliens, located in Boston, MA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Anabolic Aliens, we specialize in niche workouts tailored to your goals and lifestyle that will help you maximize time and equipment availability for more personalized results. Our omnichannel reach is over 2.5 million as we are a content-driven company with almost 1 million subscribers on YouTube and over 150 million views. On our website AnabolicAliens.com, we sell fitness coaching and plans, fitness equipment, supplements, apparel and accessories, and memberships.
We developed the fitness app Exerprise, which has over 450K downloads and sells premium subscriptions. Our company also operates as a B2B business offering marketing and promotional packages, organic brand-building coaching, and ad space. Our main B2C customers are those just starting on their fitness journeys, those who workout at home, and those who can't stay consistent or generally find the time to exercise. Our main B2B customers are brands and companies who are trying to increase their online sales through marketing and also brands and companies who are trying to build an organic lead-generating content strategy for themselves.
Tell us about yourself
I started Anabolic Aliens as a passion project when I was in college and first got into fitness. My goal was just to make YouTube videos sharing my journey and try to help people get results themselves. As my community grew, I was able to monetize the following to create a business. As a passion-driven business, the motivation to keep getting better and doing more never ends. The better my business does, the more people I help at the same time, so it's incredibly rewarding.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I've built the Anabolic Aliens company and community to a 2.5 million and growing online omnichannel reach completely organically without the use of paid ads. I've also built my Exerprise fitness app to achieve over 450K downloads with the same organic strategy.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that came with being a business owner for me was initially trying to scale. Being able to prioritize, delegate, instruct, self-execute, manage, and all the other hats you have to wear as an entrepreneur is tough, especially when you don't have the experience. But it's a must-learn ability to get to the next level!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be passionate about what your business does because it's a lot of hard work, and there are many hurdles you are going to face. If you truly love what you're doing, you'll be able to see through the rough and grind your way to the top!
- Consistency and progression are the real keys to success. If you can keep going, keep improving and keep providing value, then more results and new opportunities will continue to come to you as you grow.
- Be careful about who you invest your time, money, and energy to. Put your effort and focus only on things that will make you better as a person and more successful as a business owner.
