What's your business, and who are your customers?
AMORE by Bea is an elite team of 7 senior Hair & Makeup Artists serving greater Vancouver and beyond. We specialize in natural glamour looks for the modern bride who wants to still look like herself but better. We strive to create effortlessly chic looks that elevate our clients’ natural beauty.
Tell us about yourself
At age 23, while I was still living in Italy, I decided to take a leap of faith, dropping Uni and enrolling in Milan’s most notorious Makeup & Hair Academy. Three years later, I was working for one of Australia’s most prestigious photo studios. 11 years later, I got to travel to the most beautiful places in BC with the company of the most amazing team of artists, making my dream clients look & feel beautiful on their most memorable day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment so far has been creating a team of talented and trusted artists and rebranding my solo business into AMORE. Which, in Italian, means love. And that’s what we’re all about and who we serve.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Motivation Consistency. It is easy to get overwhelmed and sidetracked. There’s an endless amount of tasks to tackle every day, and it’s easy to get lost.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The most important thing when running a business is your MINDSET. Write down your goals and what you want to accomplish with the business you’re starting one year from now. Give yourself time to get there. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Create a sustainable structure & a schedule that works for you and that will allow you to achieve small goals every day. I personally love having a checklist. I don’t pack my daily list with too many things to do, so I won’t feel defeated if not everything gets done that day. If I have the time and energy to get more than what I originally planned to do, I feel like a boss! Take a deep breath and be consistent even when it seems like you’re not getting any results. If you keep on going without burning out, you’ll get there!
