Educational Content With A Twist - Alpha Eureka Edukasia

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in educational content but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nanda Esalawati, Co-Founder of Alpha Eureka Edukasia, Inc., located in Middletown, DE, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is a long-term marathon mind game. We produce educational content (with a twist of entertainment) on social media. We consider social media as our online classes that can be accessible for free. For in-depth value, we create Online Courses in English and Indonesian language, hoping to expand to other languages. Sometimes, it's not about the delivery but also about the context. And our team is built by educators and a journalist, so we sort of combine the two worlds of education and media.

Our business is also open for teachers, trainers, or educational institutions who want to produce their own Online Courses. We try to collaborate with other educators as much as possible. In the future, we hope to be able to produce not only video content but also books for people to read. And yes, our team members are also bookworms.

Tell us about yourself

I used to be a Kindergarten teacher after graduating from the Uni. Some people say that we might leave teaching Kindergarten, but the Kindergarten inside never leaves us moving forward. Then I changed career to became a pilot and an instructor in an aviation training center & a pilot school. It was quite fascinating to experience the dynamic from teaching Gen Z in their early childhood and then training Millenials in their adult education and then transitioning to training Gen Z in their adult education, and now teaching online with an enormous spectrum of demography.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

To be able to provide value even years after the video contents were published. Also, to certify our students who are in the area of expertise that has not been able to be standardized. But, the biggest accomplishment is to cross paths with many people whom we could never imagine meeting and also being able to get involved and participate in research that we could never imagine being asked from the other side of planet earth. And yes, we are opening our door to research proposals (pro bono). Simply send us your research proposal and the invitation letter from your educational institution (in English).

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The what and the how are learning curves. But the WHY we do it is the fuel for our engine to keep going. Somewhere along the line, we sometimes forget our WHY. Especially in education & training, we can't see the outcome immediately, not until our values are implemented in student's careers/businesses/ life.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. First of all, they lied! The sky was never the limit; it was a playground. We will see the bigger picture for your business.
  2. Second, remember the WHY is the fuel? Better get the fuel on board, shall we?
  3. Third, we start with what we already have. We know that we are enough. We know our own performance and limitation. Ready for take-off? Let's fly, shall we?
