Helping Busy Corporate Moms Get Lean - Allison Jackson

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Allison Jackson, Founder of Allison Jackson Fitness, located in Mahwah, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the founder of Allison Jackson Fitness, where I help high-performing women get lean and healthy without crazy gimmicks or stress so they can lose weight and feel good in their own skin. I am a certified nutrition coach, personal trainer, yoga instructor, and pro master figure competitor.

Tell us about yourself

I am passionate about all things health and fitness, but I really love sharing my knowledge and expertise to help corporate moms get lean eating foods they love so they can be at their best. I know exactly how hard it is to work full-time, take care of the kids and household, try to fit in, work out, eat right, and take care of yourself. I spent the last decade training and competing in figure competitions -- even winning three pro cards in one year -- so I have a crystal clear picture of what it takes to get to your ideal weight and stay there. Now I am ready to share what I've learned and experienced to help others reach their weight loss and health goals.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is helping hundreds of women realize they can ditch the diet train to achieve their weight loss goals.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is prioritizing your time and wearing various hats. As an entrepreneur, you're the head of marketing, IT, and customer service. It can be difficult to know and do it all!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take messy action. It's all about progress, not perfection.
  2. 20% of your efforts bring 80% of your results. So it's important to be clear on the tasks you're doing to ensure they will move the business and not just busy work.
  3. Don't be afraid to pivot. Whether it's your offering, pricing, or something else, if it's not working, make a change. That's how you learn and grow.
