Physical Comfort, Balance, and Healing - Alison Brill
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Alison Brill, Founder of Alison T. Brill Coaching, LLC., located in Cleveland, OH, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I provide transformative coaching, nutrition and wellness education, and healthy cooking classes, which help people reach their health goals and feel better. My clients are mid-life women struggling with digestive issues like bloating, fatigue, and food sensitivities and those who want to learn how to cook healthier meals. I help my clients find relief and have more energy so they can get back to living their best lives. I provide a holistic, body-positive approach to well-being and a path to physical comfort, balance, and healing.
Tell us about yourself
I've always been passionate about improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities. I’ve also struggled with IBS and food sensitivities for nearly a decade before finding a path to healing my gut and, with it, my overall health. With the support of a health coach and nutritionist, I was able to figure out which foods are nourishing for me and how interconnected stress, sleep, and movement are to my digestion. Equally important are supportive relationships, community, and doing work I love. That's why I'm so passionate about this work and feel honored to accompany my clients on their journeys to better health and wellness. I’m so inspired by my clients, and I take great pride in helping them feel better, lead more vibrant lives, and thrive!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment was making the decision to pursue my passion for helping women feel better in their bodies and becoming an entrepreneur. It’s been incredibly freeing, gratifying, and humbling to take that leap of faith and become my own boss.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is giving yourself permission to take breaks. As a solopreneur, I wear all the hats. There's so much to be done, and it’s easy to work around the clock. The work will still be there, but I’ve learned to prioritize my self-care. The health of my business depends on the health of my body, mind, and spirit.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Seek out free business coaching, mentoring, and training through your local small business association to help you start or grow your business. There are a ton of amazing, free resources out there!
- Join at least one networking group that shares your values, and you click with. These groups are essential for finding support and accountability, developing collaborative and referral partners, and having a sense of community.
- Invest in yourself! Being an entrepreneur is hard work. Stay hydrated and eat nourishing food, take breaks, move your body, have a breathing or meditation practice, build community, and engage in activities you enjoy. In order for your business to be healthy and thriving, you need to be healthy and thriving!
