What's your business, and who are your customers?

Alex Watson is a slow fashion clothing brand based in Montréal. Alex Watson offers minimalist fashion with an elegant aesthetic. I use designer overstock and organic fabrics to create sustainable women's clothing. I strive to create clothing for women to feel elegant and confident. With that in mind, comfort and functionality are essential in my designs. I use quality fabrics and design techniques to elevate my products for my clients. Alex Watson's clients are career-driven, with a creative mindset. They want timeless pieces, sustainably made.

Tell us about yourself

I began the brand after a decade of working within the fashion industry. I have a strong fascination for how things get made, so I dove into any opportunity I could get to explore this curiosity. Some of my experiences include: interning for a London fashion house, working as a design assistant for Cirque Du Soleil France, and renting a studio in Montréal to do private label production for local brands. I started Alex Watson to help utilize designer overstock fabrics and reduce the waste of the textile industry. I'm inspired to create every time I walk into a fabric warehouse.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
