What's your business, and who are your customers?
You know how people will train for a marathon or triathlon? I help those athletes with their nutrition so that they can fuel to support the training and have a successful race.
Tell us about yourself
I'm a dietitian that felt my calling the moment I crossed the finish line of Ironman Wisconsin, a race that includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run. I knew that I wanted to support endurance athletes with practical and simplified nutrition advice for lifelong health and athletic performance. The successes my athlete clients experience in improved energy levels, athletic performance, body composition, and their overall relationship with food and their body brings so much joy and excitement to my day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being able to quit my 9-5 job and go full-time as an entrepreneur doing what I love.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The constant pressure to continue growing. I'm always dreaming about the next step, and I need to remind myself of what I've accomplished so far and simply enjoy the journey.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be ready to make mistakes.
- Use failure as feedback on what isn't working.
- Ask for help and invest back into yourself.
