What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the founder of Alex Gordias Studio and an award-winning Boston wedding and portrait photographer who creates timeless style with a documentary approach. My goal is to capture Magazine Worthy photos. My customers are couples, families, and people who value quality and style. I work in Boston, Cape Cod, all over New England, and beyond. In 2022 I opened a photo studio near Boston to help my business grow and work off-season with business headshots, maternity, and family sessions.
Tell us about yourself
My father taught me how to use film cameras when I was a young child. We would often spend time in the darkroom developing negatives and prints. Ever since then, photography has been a great passion of mine. After getting my degree in 2007, I have been a full-time photographer for over 15 years, traveling to Europe, Indonesia, Asia, and the United States. Being multilingual has helped me understand and appreciate many different cultures. I am always up for portrait sessions, fashion photoshoots, and individual photo projects, and I am open to collaborations. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I was named one of the top 50 World Photographers by WPJA and had 45+ Wedding Photography Awards. Alex Gordias Photography is growing fast.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being all in one to operate the business and keep everything up to date.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Plan ahead and have a strategy to grow and develop your business;
- Do not neglect the power of SEO. Create a great web presence;
- Time is precious - work had, and you'll see the first results soon.
