Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Briana Cain, owner of Ageless Anatomy, located in Phoenix, AZ, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Ageless Anatomy is a medical spa and wellness clinic. We focus on individualized treatment protocols to make our patients look and feel their best. We have treatment options for everyone from all walks of life. Our patients are interested in preventing chronic disease and living long, healthy lives. Our anti-aging model is holistic, with an emphasis on patient empowerment.
Tell us about yourself
I started my practice ten years ago with the goal of offering functional medicine to as many people as possible. I believe a more integrative and alternative approach to medicine offers patients options that they may not be aware of or haven't been exposed to by the conventional medical model. I am motivated by investment in my patients' well-being. Every patient deserves good health, and I am honored to be their partner in the process of achieving good health and maintaining it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has employment autonomy. My business partner and I have both had our challenges working for companies where we couldn't express our creativity or influence the growth of the business. Building Ageless Anatomy from nothing has been challenging but rewarding. I am proud to see the fruits of our labor flourish and become successful.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is finding balance within the business and outside of the business. A business owner has to wear a number of different hats, from marketing to human resources and inventory to customer service. Sometimes it's also a challenge to find a balance between the business and our personal lives. I have recently made a commitment to maintaining boundaries between work hours and home hours to avoid burnout. I want to be the best version of myself when I come to the office to provide patient care.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Three tips I would give to anyone starting a business are to have patience, keep close track of profit and loss, and never stop learning. Business takes time to build and be profitable. It doesn't happen overnight. Always know what is coming in and out of your bank account so expenses and taxes can be planned accordingly. The world is constantly changing, and no matter what industry your business is in, it is essential to stay on top of the latest technology and trends.
