What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a hair stylist that is passionate about providing the best service that I can provide to my clients. My clients are supportive of my business and motivate me to keep going. I cater to everyone who wants hair color, hair styling, and haircuts. Women, Men, and Children.
Tell us about yourself
I started my own business over ten years ago because I was passionate about the beauty industry and what it had to offer. My mentor in cosmetology school helped me be passionate about hair color. I had children, and I wanted to show the world that you can be a mom and still start your own business. I had people tell me that it would be difficult to have this career and be a mom. The ones who told me I could not do it only motivated me to keep going. My children keep me going each day. My clients are supportive of me and my business.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating a name for myself and now starting my hair, makeup, and photography agency. I started off by working at my mother's hair salon, and I ventured out on my own. I rented a chair at a salon and moved my way into my private studio. I knew that I wanted to provide more than being at the salon behind the chair, so I partnered up with my middle school friend, Victoria, and together we started our agency. I am proud of what I do, and making my clients feel great about themselves makes me happy and makes it all worth it. Overall, seeing my children proud of their mom is by far my greatest accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is building a name for yourself and gaining your reputation through your clients.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Stay focused, stay humble, and Never Give Up!
