What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Personal chef and catering to the Santa Cruz County area and beyond.

Tell us about yourself

Originally from the back east - I had choices as a kid, pick tobacco or cook. I picked cooking and fell in love with the kitchens. The happiness of guests as they have a great time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Been in business since 2006 and have kept our head above water through all the state and country closures.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing at this point is to find staffing and folks that want to work. For some reason, the workforce is under the impression that they are doing you a favor by working.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't go into a business that would depend on others for your livelihood.
  2. Word of mouth is the best advertising you can get, it may not be immediate exposure, but it will come.
  3. Don't get into a fad business - Fads fade.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
