What's your business, and who are your customers?

Aesthetics By Design is an independent contract salesforce, and we partner with companies with medical products but no salesforce. We hire, train, and support the sales team. We recently partnered with Jim Morrison, who was L'Oreal's President for over 10 years, to launch his new regenerative serum into the aesthetics space.

Tell us about yourself

I started my work career in the temporary employment space by placing temporaries into companies and ended up in the pharmaceutical industry. The combination of these two careers gave me the skills to start Aesthetics By Design, but my motivation came from being let go with a 3 months severance package in 2013. I had a new baby; it was Christmas time, and I was left with no job. The next day I started Aesthetics By Design and decided I would design my own pathway to independence. I vowed to have multiple streams of income and never let a company have that much control of my life. Aesthetics By Design gives sales representatives the option to design their own path by leveraging the relationships they've built for years which equates to financial freedom and work-life balance.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have recognized my success by helping others generate multiple streams of income. I've launched over 80 products into the market, built an infrastructure to train and support over 700 reps, and have placed more than 3,000 reps in the marketplace. My biggest accomplishment is helping people find financial security by promoting products they believe in.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of my Superpowers is the belief I have in people. But, the hardest part of my job is getting people to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them...

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Leverage the power of your network. Your network will provide you with answers, advice, funding, and more.
  2. Select the right product or service.
  3. Learn social media marketing.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Success doesn't come from what you occasionally do. It comes from what you're doing RIGHT NOW. Get up and get going!
