What's your business, and who are your customers?
Liber & Co. manufactures craft cocktail syrups that echo the style and quality of the syrups made in-house at the world's best cocktail bars. We use the highest quality raw ingredients available and never use artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors in crafting our syrups. We sell to professional bartenders and home bartenders alike who seek to make better, more consistent cocktails.
Tell us about yourself
Liber & Co. is a purely bootstrapped endeavor launched by three partners who sought to make better cocktails at home and were disappointed by the syrups and mixers available on shelves at their local liquor stores. We follow the lead of professional bartenders, many of whom we work with, to provide the best syrups possible in pursuit of world-class cocktail and mocktail experiences.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We appeared on CNBC's Billion Dollar Buyer (twice, actually!), where we earned a deal with Landry's Inc restaurant, entertainment, and hospitality group owner Tilman Fertitta. The national television exposure, as well as the chance to negotiate and do business with a titan of the food, beverage, and hospitality industry, was a transformative step for our business!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
For me, one of the most difficult parts of being a business owner is the constant tension between seeking growth and managing responsibilities. As we've grown our business, our team has grown, and more and more people are depending on our business's performance for their livelihood. We don't take that responsibility lightly! We have to always be putting our team first if we're to continue growing in a healthy way!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Turn to your community and be open about what you're trying to accomplish. Everyone you meet should know what your dreams are for your business! Remain persistent and see every step through- it takes a lot of work! Believe in what you're doing, but be prepared to adjust to new information and learn new things.
