What's your business, and who are your customers?
AcuNiagara is an acupuncture and wellness clinic located in downtown Niagara Falls Ontario. We serve clients from around the Niagara region who are seeking care for pain and stress relief, as well as natural skincare and facial rejuvenation with cosmetic acupuncture. We also offer Arvigo Abdominal Therapy, which is a traditional type of massage that supports digestive and reproductive health for all stages of life.
Tell us about yourself
My own health challenges saw a huge shift with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine - so I decided to go back to school, get my license and become a Registered Acupuncturist. A decade later, I like to focus most on women's physical and emotional health as well as non-invasive natural methods for glowing skin.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I love seeing patients come for treatments throughout their life cycles: fertility acupuncture for couples and women trying to conceive, gentle support through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I am grateful and honored to be provided a service that is useful - especially for those who may be afraid of needles or have had a bad experience elsewhere.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Sometimes it can be hard to "turn off" my business brain, so it's a good thing I love what I do!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- If it is something you really want to do - just go for it! There is never a perfect time to start anything, and the more you put it off, the longer it will take to get started.
- Know your strengths and know when to ask for help (or outsource the things you're not great at doing).
- Make friends with other small business owners. Nobody is truly your competition, as every business is 100% unique.
