What's your business, and who are your customers?
Activate Worldwide LLC. is a boutique marketing firm that supports small business owners with leveraging and monetizing their services and products. When small businesses reach a crossroads between stalled growth and scaling to new levels, Activate Worldwide is here to bring a fresh perspective, and assess and strategize their brand authority. Where a business owner may see no light at the end of the tunnel, we see opportunities to reposition their brand and diversify their revenue model.
Tell us about yourself
I got started in my business because I was a single mom with two children, and I needed passive income. I then started making more money in my side hustle and decided to put in my letter of resignation. I have been an entrepreneur since 2006, and the same two kids I was struggling with are now a senior in college and a freshman attending Hampton University. What motivates me each day is knowing I am doing something for them that my parents couldn't financially do for me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Receiving the lifetime achievement award from former president Barack Obama.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Building a team and raising capital.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Identify a niche.
- Build a loyal tribe and following.
- Create content and solutions for that tribe and that niche only.
