What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a fertilizer company that specializes in the cannabis industry.
Tell us about yourself
During the pandemic, I started growing weed more often, I then started buying nutrients for them, and they were expensive. Once we were put into lockdown in Canada, I decided to start my own company. We started with LED Grow Lights, then expanded to nutrients which is our primary focus now! I love being able to be my own boss; I would rather work 100 hours for myself than 40 hours for someone else.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment would be getting a warehouse within 12 months of opening.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest part for me is quality control. You do your best when packing an item and putting the time into making sure it won't show up to the customer damaged, and when it does, it really sucks. Also working all the time. Like 24/7.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Embrace failure; it happens; learn from it.
- You can't control everything, delegate.
- If someone tells you, you can't, they are showing you their limits, not yours.
