What's your business, and who are your customers?
Each product from Absorb Skincare is infused with a passion for the healing properties of plants, including wildcrafted and organic plant essential oils, unrefined plant butters, and oils. Every ingredient is meticulously selected with special attention to choosing the highest quality and ethically sourced ingredients, organic and wild-harvested whenever possible. The products are never tested on animals. All products are hand-blended in small batches. The ingredients are ordered in smaller quantities to ensure ultimate freshness and potency. The candles are made with sustainable waxes; the wick is eco-friendly, clean-burning, made from FSC Certified Wood, hand-crafted, + made in the USA. The fragrance is phthalate-free, paraben-free, and compliant with IFRA standards. My customers love eco-friendly luxe products that they can feel good about.
Tell us about yourself
I have loved skincare, fragrance, and candles for as long as I can remember. I also loved studying ingredients and their effect on the skin and learning how to make skincare, fragrances, and candles from an early age. After college, I got my esthetician license and had a small skincare practice in Boulder, Colorado. Forward about 20 years later and absorb skincare was born.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is doing it all myself and keeping my business going for her for four years now.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Doing it all myself and not having a teammate to bounce ideas off of or share the workload with.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't give up! No matter how hard it gets.
- Be authentic to yourself and your brand.
- Remember that you can always make changes and pivot.
