What's your business, and who are your customers?
ABC Animal Training is dedicated to teaching humane animal training techniques using positive reinforcement to teach voluntary choice-driven behaviors. These techniques are easy to understand, and we provide lots of hands-on experience with a variety of animals, both marine and domestic. This course is designed for those who are interested in teaching their own animals how to live cooperatively with their people, frustration-free for both person and animal. This course is also very beneficial to experienced trainers to increase their understanding and skill sets.
Tell us about yourself
I have more than 30 years of experience working with and teaching marine mammal trainers and the last decade with the general public and dog trainers. I'm motivated by my students; their joy for learning is contagious.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating and providing opportunities for career growth, personal growth, and above all, a sense of participation in the community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Marketing, marketing, and marketing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Create a support team.
- Learn all things IT.
- Be disciplined with work and home life- a small business can take over your life quickly.
