What's your business, and who are your customers?

Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy for children and adults. Clients range from the age of 2 and above with varying abilities.

Tell us about yourself

My husband and I began the business to help many parents who would contact us asking for services for their children. It was difficult to find providers for them as there was a high demand and not much supply. Every day we are motivated by the progress our clients make and the improvements in the quality of life for our families.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment is now being able to (soon) open a clinic location. This location will provide a safe, controlled environment for our clients and staff with lots of fun!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is balancing the financial needs of the company, regulations from multiple areas, and providing enough support for staff and clients. It's very easy to lose yourself in one particular area, but they are all important.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find something that your heart cares about (not just your brain). When times are tough, this will help you persevere.
  2. Study your field and network with similar businesses. It always helps to have a friend.
  3. Try to leave everything you touch better than you found it. You never know when you will run into people or places that will remember the impression you left.
