Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in mental wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Reynelda Jones, CEO of A Solution B, LLC., located in Wyoming, MI, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am Reynelda Jones, the CEO and Lead Therapist of A Solution B, LLC, a holistic mental health private practice. My services are designed to help promote emotional wellness and whole-body professional women in leadership and women entrepreneurs who are looking to overcome stress, anxiety, and trauma.
Tell us about yourself
About five years ago, my wellness was compromised, and I had exhausted all my resources. Partnering with holistic practitioners helped me to address stressors in my life actively. While meeting with holistic providers, our focus was on nutrition, but at home, I had to change my environment to help with my healing, such as removing unhealthy products and creating spaces of healing. A Solution B is not just the name of my mental health therapy practice; it is the human experience of having to find alternatives to our decisions to have a better outcome. I hope to be able to support other women in this way. Although many women experience these difficult areas, the majority of the women who I have been led to work with are women leaders and women entrepreneurs. There is a unique drive to hold these roles, but there are so many stressors and uncertainties experienced while operating in these roles.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest challenge has been, and is still, putting myself out there. When I first began my practice, I had no desire to be upfront and center. It was very uncomfortable for me. So I would use my logo for posts on social media and my website. However, after meeting with business mentors and coaches, I was encouraged to let people see me. Often times they would say, "Your goal with marketing is to build a relationship with people who may be seeking your services. People are building a relationship with you, not your logo." So now, I put myself out there. It's easier than before, but it still can be a challenge. Nonetheless, my biggest accomplishment is taking the step to start and to be visible.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about becoming a business owner is making mistakes. Accepting that mistakes happen and that they are part of the learning experience. And they can be helpful; I've met a lot of great people, learned skills, and gained resources becomes of things are not working as expected.
