Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ari Morioka, Owner of A.R.I Muffins, located in New York, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am A.R.I MUFFINS. My customer is someone who loves American baking goods. Someone who is always looking for a new and fresh taste.

Tell us about yourself

I met the deliciousness and fun of American baking in New York when I was young.

"A.R.I," a baked confectionery store centered on muffins that have been loved in Aoyama, Tokyo, for 14 years, was closed in 2017.

I relocate to New York City with my Baking artistry, which mixed the beauty of Tokyo with the colorful energy of the city.

"I want to deliver joy and deliciousness of muffins and baked goods."

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would like to hear "delicious" for my original taste of baking goods from all of our customers.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Quality control is hard. To keep my product seasonal at a reasonable price.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it.
  2. Don't be afraid of mistakes.
  3. Be honest.
