What's your business, and who are your customers?

8000Kicks makes the world's waterproof hemp shoes and backpacks. Introducing the world's most sustainable fiber and also one of the most durable ones. 100% hemp shoes and hemp accessories for you to wear daily while saving the planet. It's time for you to hemp yourself up from head to toe.

Tell us about yourself

I am very passionate and concerned about the environment. Also, I wanted to create a project that would shake things up and create a difference in the world. For that reason, when I came up with the idea of using hemp to disrupt fashion in 2018, I knew I had to do it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our success is mostly a one-step-at-a-time process rather than one moment in specific. But if I have to highlight one moment, it was our first Kickstarter launch.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is to deal with the unpredictable. Our biggest challenge was to deal with COVID as factories stopped and people stopped buying shoes.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Perseverance, perseverance, perseverance.
  2. To never quit no matter what.
  3. To always walk an extra step.
