Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in candle-making but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sarah Allen, Owner of 76008 Candle Co., located in Aledo, TX, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
76008 Candle Co. Est. 2018 - We offer 100% Soy Slow Burning Wood Wick Candles in Amber Colored Glass Jars. Our customers are those who love and appreciate a high-quality hand-poured eco-friendly candle.
Tell us about yourself
I used to have an online home decor company for a couple of years. I was purchasing candles from a company and couldn’t find a company that sold a Leather Scented Candle that actually smelled like leather. I started learning, testing, and pouring candles until our first candle was launched in 2018. Our Leather Scent was our first scent launched and has been the best seller ever since! I am motivated each day to always keep moving forward!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Learning from my mistakes. Mistakes are part of life and have helped me understand and learn more about my business. That is where real growth takes place.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The unexpected issues include price increases on materials during this time.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Go slow and be patient. Nothing happens overnight.
- Learn from your mistakes.
- Keep a positive attitude and never give up.
