Help Creatives. Help Creators. Help Charity. - 5DayDeal

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Griffin Stewart, Co-Founder, Owner and CEO of 5DayDeal, located in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We sell limited-time bundles of photo and video education to professionals and hobbyists around the world. Our bundles have been purchased by customers in more than 170 countries so far.

Tell us about yourself

I have loved photography since I was in college and have traveled to more than 60 countries to photograph the beauty of our world, architecture, and design. High-quality photography education can be expensive, so at 5DayDeal, we set out to solve that while also giving back in the process. We set up our business from day 1 to give 10% of gross revenue to charity. Since our founding in 2014, we have had more than 100,000 customers and donated more than $2,900,000 to charity. You can see a full log of our charity giving here.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

This year we should surpass more than $3,000,000 donated to charity as a direct result of 5DayDeal Photo and Video bundles. I cannot think of a more amazing and impactful accomplishment than that. We also pay our partners generously and have paid our partners more than $15,000,000 since our launch!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Factors outside of our control are probably the hardest thing about being a business owner. We work with so many amazing partners and have great customers as well. We have platforms and systems, and processes set up over the years to try and have predictable sales and revenue for partners, us, and charity, but factors outside of our control can affect that. Things like the economy, COVID, the stock market, etc., all seem to play into the success of our twice-annual five days sales, and that can be hard when all our revenue is only generated in 10 short days per year.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do something you love.
  2. See how you can help others the most with your skills while also charging what you need to live.
  3. Give back through your business. Be generous!
